The Architects’ Association of Catalonia (Col·legi d’Arquitectes de Catalunya-COAC) and the Catalan University (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-Barcelona Tech -UPC) will host the 8th International Biennial of Landscape Architecture of Barcelona from the 25th to 27th September 2014. In this context, we will present the Rosa Barba International Landscape Prize, which has an endowment of Euro 15.000, sponsored by Fundació Banc de Sabadell.

The International Jury is composed by Michael Van Gessel, President of the International Jury, Landscape Architect, urban planner in Amsterdam, currently teaching at Berkeley, California; Richard Pie, Professor of Urbanism and Regional Planning at Escola Tècnica Superior d’ Arquitectura del Vallès (ETSAV-UPC); Desiree Martínez, past president of the International Federation of Landscape Architect (IFLA); Manel Colominas, agronomist engineer teaching at the Master of Landscape Architecture of Barcelona DUOT (UPC); Sue Anne Ware, professor of Landscape Architecture at RMIT University in Melbourne and Deputy Dean of Research; Martí Franch, Landscape Architect and winner the 7th European Biennial of Landscape Architecture.
In this edition of the International Biennial of Landscape Architecture of Barcelona, is trying to broaden to an international dimension with both the Rosa Barba International Landscape Prize projects, and the keynotes speakers. Our objective is to target the scope of contemporary Landscape Architecture research and professional practice to arise debate.
The Biennial Symposium entitled “A landscape for you”, focuses on the social component for a new way of planning & designing in Landscape Architecture. We want to deepen on public participation and spatial appropriation of landscape, considering both its processes and its materialization.
Barcelona will open itself to international landscape architecture in a symposium adapted to contemporary circumstances. For three days there will be lectures, presentations of the finalists of the Rosa Barba International Landscape Prize, keynotes speakers and roundtables.
