Meet the first members of the IFLA Advisory Circle

Advisory CircleIFLA is delighted to announce the first members of the freshly launched Advisory Circle have been confirmed. Our appeal for professionals to participate in the Circle was to harness the expertise of those working in landscape architecture and related disciplines to support IFLA in developing institutional responses to national, regional and international developments that affect landscape architecture. 

Meet the Advisory Circle members:

Gayle Souter Brown

Recognised international leader in landscape and urban design with demonstrated capabilities in peer review, salutogenic research, planning and design for community health and well-being, stakeholder engagement for cost effective healthcare, education, housing, public and private sector environments engagement for cost effective healthcare, education, housing, public and private sector environments.


Gillian Lawson

Gillian Lawson

Senior lecturer in Landscape Architecture, QUT.  Research Area: Landscape Planning and Design Dr Lawson has three main research fields: Landscape Planning and Cultural Exchange, Community Spaces and Public Well-Being and Knowledge Choices and Social Equity.

 


Sandra Fischer

Sandy-Portrait-1-1-12-web-233x300Sandy is a licensed landscape architect and community planner. Her practice has focused on leading teams, planning livable communities and designing enduring places. Her planning work has guided new and existing, rural and urban, local and international communities. Sandy has a large and diverse portfolio of built work in the Northern Rockies and Pacific Northwest

 

Daniel Roehr

daniel-roehrDaniel teaches studio, site engineering, advanced representation, living roof seminars, and studies abroad in the landscape architecture, urban design, architecture and environmental design programs. He is a licensed landscape architect in British Columbia and Berlin. Since 2007, he runs the research group greenskins lab at UBC. His current research focuses on the integration of living roofs as part of a holistic system for storm water management.


Hal Moggridge

Hal Moggridge is one of Britain’s most eminent landscape designers. His company, Colvin and Moggridge was established by Brenda Colvin, one of the founders of the discipline, in 1922. The company deal with a huge range of projects: industrial, civic, historic, private, rural, urban.

 


Hu Jie

hujieJie Hu is Vice-President of Beijing Tsinghua Tongheng Planning & Design Institute, Director and Chief Designer of Research Center for Landscape Architecture under the Institute and Council Member of Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture. Hu graduated from Chongqing Institute of Architecture and Engineering with a bachelor’s degree in architecture, Beijing Forestry University with a master’s degree in landscape architecture, and The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a master’s degree of landscape architecture.

Craig Pocock

craig pocockCraig has lived and worked extensively in design and project management in New Zealand, Jordan, Palestine, India and the United States. He has fourteen years of professional practice as a landscape architect. Much of Craig’s design work focuses on applying the collective knowledge of traditional sustainable practices from the Middle East, Central Asia as well as contemporary sustainable North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
