Results of IFLA Americas Elections Announced

On behalf of the IFLA AR ExCo, Current IFLA Americas President Raquel Penalosa has  announced the official results of IFLA Americas 2018 election process for the positions of: President, Secretary, Treasurer and Chair of the Council of Students and Emerging Professionals.

Voting via email took place in a 30-day period from June 1st till July 1st.

From the electorate of 22 votes, only 16 were sent (which represents 72.27%), and only 14 were valid. The results are as follows:

IFLA Americas President
Ricardo Riveros – 14 votes, 100%
IFLA Americas Secretary
Rafael Dodera – 14 votes – 100%
IFLA Americas Treasurer
Ana Luisa Artesi – 14 votes – 100%
Chair of the Council of Students and Emerging Professionals
Leonardo Moreira – 14 votes -100%

The full report will be presented at the Regional Council 2018, that will take place on Tuesday 25 September in Mexico City.

As per IFLA By-Laws, scrutineers will be nominated and report back. The Council will then confirm the results.

The elected officers will initiate their mandate right after the 2018 Regional Council in Mexico City.
