Monica MARIACA-PANDO. MLA, LA&EP
With more than twenty years of experience working in the Americas, Monica has developed herself into a strategic growth professional with a history of optimizing landscape care, through Environmental Planning and Landscape Architecture, in several industries and companies while expanding reach and presence in the local and global markets. Monica has combined her experience managing and leading business creation and development at the cross roads of the industrial, mining, oil & gas, landscape architecture and environmental planning, with a passion of aligning people and resources to build cultures & sustainable places.
Monica has worked as consultant, as well as HSE manager, and partner of multidisciplinary studios providing services to private companies and institutions (UNDP, WB, IDB). She worked in the assessment of several non-renewal natural resources projects, restored severely impacted sites of contaminated soil & water using state of the art techniques & methods. Moreover, she developed plans and methodologies to recover +50 km of oil & gas footprint in the Argentine Patagonia. Monica gave talks, seminars and courses at several Universities in Argentina (Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires, Universidad Católica, Universidad Torcuato di Tella, Universidad Argentina de la Empresa). She was speaker in numerous Energy related Congresses and Trade Missions in Argentina and Chile. She also trained professional groups with several backgrounds.
Monica hold s a BA in Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning (LA&EP), and a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), focused in Urban & Regional Planning. She graduated with honors from both subjects at Utah State University, USA. She has also done studies in HSE, Audits, Risk Assessment/Management, Environmental Impact Assessments, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Industrial Waste Management, Crisis Management, ISOs 9000, 14000 &18000, Health & Safety, Legal Regulations & Documentation, Training and Mediation. She is an active member of the Argentine Center of Landscape Architecture (CAAP) where she just finished her duty as Secretary. Currently, she is president & partner of MPAstudio since 2014.
