Ian Phillips

UK Delegate and Member of IFLA-EU Professional Practice Committee (September 2013).

Ian is a chartered landscape architect and town planner, working as an independent consultant based in SE England.
He was elected Vice President of the Landscape Institute in July 2015 and serves on the LI’s Board, Council and Policy Committee.
He has made principal contributions to LI publications and responses to government consultations.
He is a nationally appointed Member of the South Downs National Park Authority, where he also serves on the Planning Committee.
He has over 30 years’ experience working on a variety of projects in the public and private sectors and in rural and urban environments.
He also has extensive experience of speaking at local, national and international events to diverse audiences.
His professional interests include green infrastructure, trees, design review, landscape planning policy and community engagement.
He represents both IFLA-Europe and ECTP-CEU on the European Commission’s GI Working Group (2014).
