Berlin and other metropolises are currently faced with enormous challenges, especially with regard to significant population growth. The question is, what is the significance of urban freerooms for sustainable growth? What contributions can landscape architecture, urban and open space planning and garden culture make when it comes to answering global challenges on the ground?
On 18 and 19 May 2017, the conference will address the importance of public space in the cities’ century. On May 20 and 21, various excursions will be held over the IGA site, including the international garden cabins and the green hotspots of Berlin.
The conference is sponsored by the Berlin rope factory, The Kronimus AG Betonsteinwerke and the company Streetlife – setter of the outer space. Media partners are the Architekturportal Competitionline and Garten + Landschaft, a magazine for landscape architecture.
